"I always liked Nino and felt he was going to be an asset, but his age and the AHL/NHL rules worked against him"

Wow. Do you actually believe this?

A tribute to Matt Moulson..... Why? What did Matt Moulson do for this franchise that is deserving of recognition??

If there is a God for you guys, the most important thing that Matt Moulson ever did was to be a part in a series of 2 trades that get Garth Snow fired.

Moulson since JT:
Buf 44gp 11g 18a -8
MIN 6gp 1g 1a -2

While I'm willing to bet that he'll score against us tonight, he's going to have an awfully hard time convincing anyone that his 30+ goal seasons weren't largely due to a certain center he played with

He was a borderline turnover machine in last nights game. Thought it was interesting that Tony Dean(the Wild blogger)was telling people Moulson was playing an effective two way game. Didn't see any sign of that yesterday and asked him how he was seeing this great two way player? Still waiting for a reply...

I think it's a case of a honeymoon with him right now more than anything.

So his present post-Isles pace has him like this
82gp (prorated) 19g 30a -16
Imagine paying 5 years $30 million for that....

I get it. My point is when i was aksed by a Wild fan to give an accurate description of what i thought of Moulson I was chewed out for it. To say he is a great two way player is laughable. He never was and never will be. He may start scoring for them but I found it incredible that he's playing exactly the way i described he would and was ripped apart by both Sabres fans and Wild fans for saying such slanderous things about the super star. How I was just an angry, jealous Islander fan, etc...
Just gave an honest description of Matt Moulson the player. It seems accurate to this day whether he scores or not. Yet they're still denying it

But would you expect Nino Niederreiter to have 32 points and be a +10? Maybe not.

Why not? The guy was drafted #5 overall. I remember wanting him to drop for the Rangers but that was wishful thinking. He has always been thought to be a player.

He may put up some points for you like i said. Hope he does but this is why a lot of Islander fans weren't unhappy to see him go. It wasn't sour grapes it was due to him being a negative when he wasn't scoring. Even when he was scoring he was a liability unfortunately. I hope Snow doesn't get desperate and do something stupid like signing him in the offseason when Moulson's asking price gets a little cheaper

He's streaky in the offensive zone and non existant on the defensive side. No way he's worth the $30million over 5 years he wants.

actually this may have been our best baraining move..let him play elsewhere and prove he's not a 30 goal guy!
Then he comes back for 3 years $10 million.

I guess for me I don't really pay much attention to what he does now...but with the Isles and JT he was effective, they had chemistry, that can be hard to find...rather than get rid of him I would have kept him and added other pieces....like defense and goalies.

No thanks. I'm fine with him not coming back even if he drops his demands down to a couple bucks.

Eh...funny how anyone who plays with JT has chemistry. Same with Crosby, Getzlaf etc....

Funny, Taylor Pyatt wasn't exactly ripping the Flyers apart this past weekend.

Ah...a two game sample! That should do it.

Of course why they'd put Pyatt on anything other than a 4th line....
